<subject>Check Point Charlie</subject>
<event>
by Redwin Tursor Nothing ever goes quite the way its supposed to. Even in metaphore. Our Final Exchange Was neither an exchange Nor is it probably final. I forgot the check. You forgot that it was going to happen. It was awkward A little painful And then things went on. Life is anti climatic that way.

<subject>Ode to Wonderbread</subject>
<event>
By Emmit Other Ah so fresh So formless Spongy white disgusting simulacrum. You imitate the form of food And yet you are Not. Children like thee For thy clean interior And utter lack of taste. Wonderbread is simple And therefore it is safe. But children are children. Through the wonder of the world In their eyes They might as well be eating ambrosia Get out of the way while they make wonders. Thank you very much. Adults have no such excuse. So full of preservatives That do not preserve Can't not the strong man Or even the 90 pound weakling Condense thee in loaf form To the size of a malformed pancake? Indeed Charmin has more substance And it is useful only For wiping one's behind. Do thy chemicals And preservatives Keep thee from molding? I say thee nay. For wonderbread left out in the hot sun Shall grow stale like unto any other bread. Mold upon it Blue and yellow Bright as sunflowers And a cloudless summer sky Still takes and looks just as disgusting As upon they more substantive brethren. Thou art not merely pedantic As a bread But also a symbol Of Safe Choices Of Right Choices Of Hidden Malformed Racism Of idealist that are lies Wrapped up in pretty parades Celebrating meaningless platitudes. The supposed triumph of science Upon forces such as taste And substance And meaning. Fortified with vitamins and minerals Which were scientifically removed in the first place. A culture of sulphuric dentist drills Nitrous oxide leaking into the waiting room Of flickering phosphorescent lights And parliamentary procedure Foisted by pompous wind bags on C-span Pontificating to an audience that isn't there. Far more concerned with the pointless flabousity Of fallen celebrities That Mammon built up in the first place. Sanctuary from the Stars That laugh with contempt At your foolish attempts to hide from them. Between thy ends Wonderbread There may or may not be substance But one cannot call thee a sandwich. And half a sandwich Made with some other kind of loaf Is still half a sandwich Which is not a sandwhich at all. What is the sound of one piece of bread clapping? If a piece of bread molds in the forest does anyone care? Harken in the mirror wonderbread All the ketchup in the world Will not make thee anything but paper crammed into yeast.
